We believe that the views of most American taxpayers are no longer being represented by the majority in Congress.
"Progressives" are now in control and are hell-bent on implementing a version of socialism with higher taxes and more government control. We think that the direction taken by the administration in Washington is wrong and must be changed if we are to avoid becoming "West Europe."

It's all about two things, spending and control. Listen closely when they speak about funding.

Their perspective is that it is the government’s money they’re spending. It is not. It is our money, and our children's and grandchildren’s money. We, the taxpayers fund the government - we are the government. Whatever happened to
“government of the people, by the people, for the people?” Voters made the mistake of expecting our current group of representatives to be good stewards of the country’s wealth – to spend our money wisely on our behalf. Instead, they are spending the country into bankruptcy and they're lying through their collective teeth to convince us otherwise.

Look at the deviousness evident in the handling of the “healthcare” bill. Congress intentionally lied about the benefits and costs of the legislation to an extent never before seen. Their parliamentary schemes went far outside of normal congressional procedures – all to force a bad bill (polls showed we didn't want) down our throats, all the while misrepresenting its impact on our lives and its effect on our economy. Those voting for that legislation have proven themselves to be untrustworthy and incapable of acting honestly on our behalf. We will earnestly strive to remove them from office – all 219 of them.

It will be difficult because Congress has established themselves as an elite ruling class – America’s new royalty. It is painfully obvious that they no longer view themselves as being there to represent “the people.” Most seem to believe that their seats in Congress are permanent, tenured positions and once seated, that they are entitled to remain there until retirement. The framers never intended members of Congress to be there indefinitely. They were expected to be citizen representatives, performing temporary service to the country and then returning home to their jobs and careers as ordinary Americans. Unfortunately, over time, the incumbents have used their power to accrue so many advantages over a challenger that they often become difficult to unseat. Difficult ... but not impossible.

We The People don’t like being taken for fools. Forget what the incumbents in Congress say, ignore their promises, their rhetoric means nothing. There are countless documented examples of lies and obfuscations by our “representatives.” Rather than rely on their meaningless words, instead focus on what they’ve actually done by checking out their voting records. Here’s a source of votes for all members of Congress:

The votesmart.org site lets you select a Representative (or Senator) and display their votes on a specific issue, or show all of their votes in chronological sequence. It's easy to see what they've voted for and what they've voted against.

Remember, they can change their rhetoric, but they can’t change their record. If you believe (as we do), that the 111th Congress has done little to improve life in America and done much to damage the country, vote them out. If they’re not voting for you, don’t vote for them. This is where joining with others who think like we do can make a real difference on November 2nd, 2010. We can take our country back.
